10.04.2009

Ljubljana, Europe - April 10, 2009 - ASTRI, the Applied Science and Technology Research Institute founded by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, has licensed Beyond Semiconductors BA22 32-bit processor for providing technology transfer to the Hong Kong industry.

ASTRI provides a host of IP and other technology for the Hong Kong technology industry. The goal of ASTRI is to become the premier research and technology institute in the Greater China Region.

"We are delighted to work with a premier institute like ASTRI. Their influence in the region is already highly significant, and our processor provides exactly the type of low power, low gate count features and licensing flexibility required", said Matjaz Breskvar, CEO of Beyond Semiconductor.

The BA22 processor provides low power, the highest code density in the industry, and a common software development tool chain. Performance tops 1.35DMIPS/MHz, and includes DSP functionality and optional floating point unit, as well as MMU and extensive software debug facilities. Development platforms are available, and include a complete processor subsystem with BA22 and a host of peripherals, as well as FPGA development hardware. The development platforms can boot Linux or other RTOS, and connect directly to a VGA monitor, keyboard and mouse.

The BA22 and peripherals are available for licensing today. Contact Beyond Semiconductor for more information: www.beyondsemi.com
